HVAC Integration Materials

Complete bill of materials for acoustic HVAC integration across the MediaVerse Studio Complex. All silencers, duct treatments, diffusers, and plenum materials required to achieve NC targets.

BUILDER CUSTOMIZATION GUIDE — HVAC BOM

CUSTOMIZABLE — Equipment brand and model may be substituted if the replacement unit meets or exceeds the specified cooling capacity (kW), noise rating (dBA at 1m), and refrigerant type. Contractors may use preferred suppliers for duct hangers, vibration isolator brackets, and condensate fittings provided they meet the load and isolation ratings listed. Labelling, signage, and equipment tag formats may follow your company branding.

DO NOT ALTER — Total cooling capacity (7.04 kW / 205 W/m²), duct dimensions (300mm x 200mm main), silencer attenuation targets (Run A: 40 dB, B/C: 25 dB, D: 15 dB), terminal velocity limits per run, flexible connector requirements at every wall penetration, and the VRF split configuration (2 x 1.0 TR IDU). These values are acoustically engineered and changing any of them invalidates the NC budget calculations.

Duct Silencers

Four inline rectangular silencers sized to meet room-specific NC targets. All silencers are splitter-type with mineral wool fill and perforated steel facing.

Simplified Schematic

Duct runs A through D from indoor units through silencers to each room. Main duct runs along the buffer spine ceiling plenum.

Critical Notes

Critical Installation Requirements
  • Flex duct connections: All rigid-to-flex transitions must use canvas collars with acoustic sealant. Minimum 300mm flex length at each diffuser connection to prevent structure-borne noise.
  • Silencer orientation: Airflow arrow must face downstream. Install with minimum 3x duct-width straight run upstream. Run A (VO Live) requires the highest attenuation silencer closest to the room.
  • Vibration isolation: All IDU hangers must use spring isolators (Mason Type SLF or equivalent). No rigid connections between ductwork and structure. Neoprene gaskets at all penetrations.
  • Duct lining: Internal acoustic lining must be smooth-faced (Armaflex or equivalent) to prevent fibre release. All joints sealed with vapour-barrier tape.
  • Plenum sealing: All ceiling penetrations must be acoustically sealed. No unsealed gaps between plenum and room boundaries.
Commissioning Note

Post-installation NC verification required in each room using calibrated sound level meter. Measurements at 3 positions per room, A-weighted, with HVAC running at design airflow. Any room exceeding NC target by more than 2 dB requires remediation before acoustic treatment installation.
